This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Television. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting.

You can help maintain the list on this page:

  • To add a new AfD discussion (once it has already been opened on WP:AFD):
  • Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
  • You can also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Television}}<small>—~~~~</small> to it, which will inform users that it has been listed here.
  • There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
  • Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
  • You can also add and remove links to other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Television.

Please note that adding an AfD to, or removing it from, this page does not add it to, or remove it from, the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page, before adding it to this page.

For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

[edit] Jake Morgan

Jake Morgan (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) (delete) – (View AfD)

This is a lengthy article about a baby from General Hospital. The article currently consists of unsourced plot summaries about what the adults surrounding him have done. After attempting to redirect it twice to General Hospital, an editor has reverted me twice. I have now brought it here for larger community input. AniMate 21:39, 8 June 2008 (UTC) AniMate 21:39, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Delete Non-notable minor character, no out-of-universe info exists for him. Ten Pound Hammer and his otters(Broken clamshellsOtter chirps) 21:40, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Comment. This page's history is incredibly tangled, as it looks like an anon did a copy/paste move in September 2007, and nobody caught it. The General Hospital character that is being discussed is also known as Jake Spencer, in case anyone is confused. --Elonka 23:02, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete: "This is a lengthy article about a baby"—that sold it for me. –thedemonhog talkedits 23:12, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete non-notable baby. Baby? Yes, a baby. Sigh. Gwernol 23:51, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Redirect Technically, you want 30 or RfC, not Afd. But in practice, I suppose AfD does serve to force things like this--let us consider closing as Redirect-- it actually is in practice a variant of delete. DGG (talk) 04:33, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Redirect to List of General Hospital characters. The character himself is definitely notable within the universe of the series due to his parentage, but obviously is undeserving of his own article. Such redirects have become a common practice for fictional characters from soaps to Star Wars. AniMate's previous attempts to redirect were thwarted by an editor who has now been admonished and blocked for unacceptable behavior, I don't see why a redirect can't be attempted again. — TAnthonyTalk 05:10, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete and redirect to stop the article from being recreated through reverts. The article is just a lot of plot (WP:NOT#PLOT) with little hope for improvement per lack of sources. – sgeureka tc 12:09, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] For Warrick

This should probably be deleted in line with WP:CRYSTAL. The episode will undoubtedly be notable when it comes out, but as of right now it contains a large amount of speculative, forwarding looking statements which cannot be confirmed through a reliable source (and is subject to change). JBsupreme (talk) 16:05, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Delete I agree with the nominator. The article can be recreated in when the episode airs. There is another upcoming CSI episode here which should also be deleted per WP:CRYSTAL. Bláthnaid 17:23, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Note: This debate has been included in the list of Television-related deletion discussions. -- Bláthnaid 17:25, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete as it is just a stub that can be recreated, although this source seems to think that this is the title. –thedemonhog talkedits 18:53, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of programs broadcast by ABS-CBN

List of programs broadcast by ABS-CBN (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) (delete) – (View AfD)

Unnotable and excessive list of programs aired by a television channel in the Phillipines. Wikipedia is "not electronic program guide" and not an indiscriminate list. A list of every minor program ever broadcast by this single channel is not appropriate and does not "contribute to the state of human knowledge." Nor do THREE lists. How many lists does one channel need? Failed Prods with removal reason of "object: why only prod the list of ABS-CBN there are more than a dozen lists of programs of other networks out there?"

I am also nominating the following related pages because they are similar; redundant lists:

List of programs broadcast by ABS-CBN Regional Network Group (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
List of shows previously aired by ABS-CBN (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)

Strong Keep: List of programs broadcast by ABS-CBN only... other two lists may be deleted. pikdig (talk) 04:04, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Strong Keep: The current list. Merge the other two lists into the current lists. pikdig (talk) 17:59, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Strong Keep for the list of current and previous programs. For the regional network group list, merge to the current list. Please take note that ABS-CBN is one of the major networks here in the Philippines. -Danngarcia (talk) 11:30, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Merge "sub-lists" into main list as ABS-CBN is a major network and a list of shows is key. –thedemonhog talkedits 18:54, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Merge everything with the main list. ABS-CBN fanboys tend to edit with wanton abandon, as I have noticed. Starczamora (talk) 15:42, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Strong Keep the current list and Merge the "sub-list" to the main list. ABS-CBN is one of the major networks here in the Philippines. Dehm46 (talk) 15:52, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Britain's Got Talent (Series 1)

Britain's Got Talent (Series 1) (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) (delete) – (View AfD)

Replicates information available in its entirity at Britain's Got Talent. Prod removed without explanation so nominating it for deletion. Mallocks (talk) 09:14, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Edited to add: There is a similar page at Britain's Got Talent (Series 2). Mallocks (talk) 22:08, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

  • Additional Comment, at time of writing the page is getting worse not better, mentioning no less than 4 times the winner of the competition. Mallocks (talk) 18:25, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Note: This debate has been included in the list of Television-related deletion discussions. -- Fabrictramp | talk to me 23:17, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete - Unnessacary topic, as with above reasons. The whole article copies the Britain's Got Talent page. Of course if the topic was expanded to include more in-depth detail and removed from the Britain's Got Talent page, then I might change my mind. Thenthornthing (talk) 18:52, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Delete: The article has a lot of potential, but it is just not needed in its current state. –thedemonhog talkedits 03:29, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep. There are two series, and we need articles for both. You might want to consider reducing what's in the main article and leaving the rest of the detail for the series articles. Everyking (talk) 10:21, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of KaBlam! episodes

List of KaBlam! episodes (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) (delete) – (View AfD)

Unsourced and OR. WP:NOT#DIR. -- Mark Chovain 06:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Delete The article is not referenced. It fails WP:NOTABILITY. --RyRy5 (talk) 07:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

  • Note: This debate has been included in the list of Lists-related deletion discussions. -- Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:38, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Strong keep and expand. There is quite a body of precedent for spinning out lists of television episodes from the main article on the series; Wikipedia:EPISODE#Process even recommends it. Most of the episode lists also have a one or two sentence synopsis of the episode and the original air date, which would enhance this article, and references will help, too.--Fabrictramp | talk to me 21:43, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
  • Merge in main KaBlam! article and split off if someone ever gets around to writing summaries. –thedemonhog talkedits 03:00, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep - Agree with thedemonhog. Either Merge or Keep. Lists like this only improve with exposure and become very useful encyclopedic sources for further reasearch. Needs referencing, but my assumption is that the current information is factual and verifiable.--Mike Cline (talk) 11:41, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion so that consensus may be reached.
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Malinaccier (talk) 20:09, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Merge per thedemonhog. A mere listing of episodes doesn't warrant its own article, when it is the only content. If enough content is found to substantially flesh out the episode descriptions, then this would be a good article. But not yet.--Aervanath lives in the Orphanage 20:59, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep and expand. Since individual episode articles are frowned upon now, according to consensus, episode list articles are the preferred alternative. This is a series broadcast nationally on a major network; I see no reason why it doesn't warrant an episode list article. WP:OR only applies to brand new original thought; it does not apply to lists of existing television episodes. 23skidoo (talk) 22:55, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
  • Keep You say it's unsourced. Could we use this as a source? 99.230.152.143 (talk) 14:40, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
