Here are some tasks you can do:
- Requests: Lots of articles need to be created:
• A bunch of key tied-priority game redlinks
• Robert Byrne (billiards writer) (priority bio article by redlink count, despite not being a player)
• Andrew Ponzi, Jimmy Caras, Robin Bell Dodson, Edwin Kelly, Charlie Peterson, Michael Phelan (billiards player), George Franklin Slosson, Frank Taberski, and Dorothy Wise (priority "legend" player bios by redlinks)
• Hsia Hui-kai, Jeremy Jones (pool player), Fabio Petroni & Mike Davis (pool player) (priority male pool bios by ranking + redlinks)
• 6 tied-priority female pool bios
• Dion Nelin & Eddie Merckx (billiards player) (priority male three-cushion bios by rank+redlinks)
• Mike Eufemia, Michael Shamos, George Fels, Mitch Laurance & var. Mosconi Cup players (needed unranked but notable bios)
• Gustavo Zito (priority five-pins bio by titles)
• Joss Tour & VNEA (top needed org. articles)
• Derby City Classic, 2007 WPA World Nine-ball Championship & BCA Open Nine-ball Championship (priorty event articles by intl. scope + redlinks)
• The Baltimore Bullet (priority misc. article by redlinks)
• We finally have a wanted female carom player bio
• And: everyone/thing listed at WP:CUEGAMES, WP:CUEEVENTS, WP:CUEORGS, WP:CUEBIOS, & WP:CUEMISC. Also a Cue sports world records article (many can be pulled from bio articles like Geet Sethi, Guinness Book will provide others, and so will BCA, etc., sites and books).
- Copyedit: Jonni Fulcher
- Wikify: Chicago (pool), Alfredo de Oro, Jonni Fulcher
- Merge: Irish standard pool ⇒ Blackball (pool)
- Verify: Cue stick (mostly WP:OR!)
- Cleanup: Efren Reyes, Mosconi Cup, Russian pyramid, Earl Strickland, Five-pins, Thorsten Hohmann, Thomas Engert, Marlon Manalo, Francisco Bustamante]
- Expand: Carom billiards, Chicago (pool), Straight pool, Alfredo de Oro
- Stubs: Kelly Fisher (barely mentions her pool role!); Thorsten Hohmann (in very bad shape!); Bank pool, Chicago (pool), Russian pyramid, Ten-ball, Four-ball, Pool hall; Alfredo de Oro (skeletal), Jeanette Lee; loads of players in Category:Cue sports stubs
- Update: Ten-ball (skeletal material from March 2007 about event that already started on May 23)
- NPOV: Trick shot (terrible!); Jose Parica (it's bad!); Efren Reyes, Thomas Engert, Dennis Orcollo, Dick Jaspers
- Other:
- Create sections: Exhibition game needs section on cue sports; could later form a new article with "Main article..." xref to it. What other general articles need cue sports sections?
- CopyVio rewrite:
- Clarify: What are the "continuous pool" and "61 pool" listed above "14.1 continuous" at Alfredo DeOro?
- Defend: Marco Zanetti, which is at AfD as of Feb. 15 2008
- Delete:
- Move/Rename (and Redirect):
- Split: List of World Eight-ball Champions - blackball stuff needs own article
- Redirect:
- Unorphan:
- Assess:
- Ensure: that rules discussions in game articles & the Billiard techniques article do not violate WP:NOT#IINFO: "Instruction manuals - ...Wikipedia articles should not include instruction - advice..., suggestions, or... 'how-to's. This includes tutorials,... manuals...guides..."
- Help fix: WP:CUEBIOS#Pool players (women) is nearly empty!; Thorsten Hohmann article has contradictions and gibberish
- Help develop: the lists of WP:CUEORGS and WP:CUEEVENTS
- Images: improve articles with images from commons; create pics and add them to commons as release-all-rights or GFDL.
- Make sortable: Convert List of WPA World Nine-ball Champions, List of World Eight-ball Champions, and similar tables to the new class="wikitable sortable" type (as at IBSF World Billiards Championship)
- Add: Category:Cue sports biography stubs (when it exists) to Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/to do in the sports section; Category:World record holders to appropriate articles (there are at least two pool player stubs that need this); finished pool player infobox (and snooker one if absent) to Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Infoboxes; {{Sport overview}} to main articles of cue games that are real sports; medal table tags where they apply (see Ding Junhui for example).
- Insert: Cue sports events (tournament results, etc.) into the "year in sports" categories (e.g. 1965 in sports), using {{subst:Cue sports heading}} if that year doesn't have one yet.
- Change: Dates of salient events in article (tournaments, etc., not unimportant usages) to "year in sports" instead of "year" wikilinks (e.g. 1965 instead of 1965).
- Replace: Soccer infobox at Thorsten Hohmann with pool one when it is finished.
- Some day: Seek Featured Topic status.
- Plunder: the French article; it does have some interesting tidbits, structure and images.
- Inter-wiki: Improve simple:Billiards and foreign-language key articles.
