Welcome to the Cryptozoology WikiProject. We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of articles related to cryptozoology and cryptids.

Goals
  • The goal of this WikiProject is to provide complete coverage on subjects related to cryptids, by expanding articles on cryptids, and stories about them.
Scope
  • This project proposes to work with all pages related to animals identified as cryptids, their history, geographical diffusion, and related places and people. We will specifically deal with all articles contained in the Category:Cryptozoology and its subcategories.

To-do list for Wikipedia:WikiProject Cryptozoology:

Here are some tasks you can do:

All members should always feel free to patrol the recent changes list to note improvements, other changes, or vandalism of articles within the scope of this project.

    [edit] Other tasks

To create an infobox template which can be used for all the creatures, real and imaginary, within the scope of this project. This would include:

    • The best and clearest (but not necessarily most famous) picture of the creature. If no picture is available, simply don't include anything in this space.
    • Alternate names for the creature.
    • The areas where the creature has been sighted, as specifically as possible.
    • Whether or not the creature is believed to be hostile towards humans or domestic animals.
    • The approximate height (or length for quadrupeds and sea creatures) and weight of the creature.
    • The creature's diet, if known.
    • The type of creature (use the types such as primate, etc. already present on the cryptids page. Perhaps these terms could be revised?)

The article would also contain information on the specific myths and stories, if any, relating to the subject cryptid.
