[edit] Tournament Brackets

I know we began to discuss this in the previous section, but I think it would help if we all listed here what we need in terms of brackets created.

Bracket Type Example Comments Fixed Template
4 team-double elimination NCAA Regionals (1999-Present); some older NCAA tourney; some conference tourneys Template:4Team2ElimBracket
2 4-Team Double Elimination with 4-Team Single Elimination Play-In game ACC 11-team Tourney I used Template:4TeamBracket to represent the 4-team play in round, and then the Template:SECBracket for the rest of the tournament The current setup is satisfactory.
8-Team TRUE Double Elimination with 2-Team Single Elimination Play-In game ACC 9-team Tourney I used Template:2TeamBracket to represent the play-in game, and then the Template:8Team-DoubleElimin-Bracket for the rest of the tournament, this template is terrible and is missing a game and lines of progression. I have no idea how to edit these and create what I need. It is also missing seedings. Template:2TeamBracket

+Template:8Team2ElimBracket

6-Team Double Elimination, no byes NCAA tourneys from 1976 through 1998, SEC tourneys from 1993 through 1995, Big 12 tourneys in 1997 & 1998 [1] Template:6Team2ElimA;
Template:6Team2ElimB;
Template:6Team2ElimC
8-Team ACC-Style Double Elimination I did my best to illustrate how this bracket works. By breaking it down into three sections I think people get the idea without having to literally read instructions. Template:ACCBaseball80-03
7-Team ACC Single & Double Elimination mix This one is straight forward. It's basically a 4-team Double Elimination bracket with 3 seperate play-in games. Used from 1973-78 Template:ACCBaseball73-78
2 team; three game series Super Regionals; Older (1950's-1970's) NCAA Tourneys Basically, if you could take the "Finals" section of Template:CWSBracket and make it stand-alone then that would be perfect. Template:3GameSeries
modified 8 team, double-elimination old CWS (1950-?) Template:8Team2ElimBracket doesn't work for 1950 College World Series (and others) - some of the later matchups don't work out [in the works...]

feel free to add or move this list where appropriate. - Jober14 17:41, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
