Needs info on the West Coast and East Coast Metal scenes.
The Controversies section needs work on various issues.
A section titled Alternative metal movement should be written and include the notable bands pioneering alternative metal in general, metalcore, nu metal etc.
Needs info on MTV banning Christian music videos in the 1990s and the VH1 series attacking Christian music and how these issues affected the scene.
Needs more info on the other regional scenes such as those of Europe and South America.

Needs more sources and info on how the bands were received and what they achieved
