Wikipedia:WikiProject Celts
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Welcome to WikiProject Celts. Some Wikipedians have formed this collaboration resource and group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of Celts and the organization of information and articles on this topic. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic. If you would like to help, please join the project, inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list below.
Contents |
[edit] Goals
- To improve articles relating to Celtic Studies, as defined under "Scope" below
- To ensure that Wikipedia's coverage of Celtic topics remains committed to reflecting the current state of academic scholarship and compliant with Wikipedia's policies of the neutral point of view and verifiability, citing reliable sources as necessary.
- For a good illustration of what this project could be, see the project "Projet:Celtes" and the related portal "Celtic World" in the Francophone Wikipedia.
[edit] Scope
The scope of this WikiProject is the Celtic peoples, both ancient and modern, and their cultures and languages, history, artifacts, and the like. For articles relating to the period after the Roman Empire, the focus is on the six Celtic nations: Brittany, Cornwall, Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland, and Wales. These articles should all be contained in the Category:Celtic studies or one of its subcategories. This project does acknowledge and is grateful for the existence of other projects which relate to the subject, and will endeavor to work harmoniously with those other projects for so long as those projects and this project remain active.
[edit] Guidelines
- None yet, anyone is welcome to come up with some, and to add to and improve this Project anyway you see fit. Your knowledge and friendly work here is most welcome.
[edit] Open tasks
- It would be appropriate to begin a list of reliable academic sources starting from the latest to oldest as a resource for those who are interested in editing Celt related articles.
- invite all Category:Wikipedians who listen to Celtic music to join
