[edit] User categorisation
California Wikipedians should add one of the following categories to the bottom of their User page:
-
-
-

[edit] User Boxes
Instead of just adding the category to your user page, you could add the Userbox for Californians User California to your user page, which will also add your user page to the Wikipedians in California category.
This user lives in or hails from the state of California. |
To identify youself specifically with this WikiProject, if you don't live in California or if you want your userboxes to represent your work on Wikipedia, you can add the userbox to your page. It will look like this, but with a link back to this page:
This user is a member of WikiProject California. |
If you prefer not to use userboxes, but still want to be listed in the category for WikiProject California participants you place the following tag at the bottom of your user page:
-

[edit] Images
WikiProject California uses Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in California to monitor all California articles that may benefit from additional images. In addition, Wikipedian photographers living in California use the subcategories at Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in California to locate those subjects near where they typically take photographs. The "imageneeded=" and "in=" parameters of WikiProject California populate this category.
- To request an image for an article, use the "imageneeded=yes" parameter in the WikiProject California article talk page template. Please use the "in=" parameter in the WikiProject California template to specify the California county where the photograph may be taken. Up to three locations may be specified, such as
- If you need to specify four or more locations (such as a road passing through eight California counties), use reqphoto and its multiple "in=" parameters.
- GIMP map of California highlighting counties are available in Image:California map showing counties (source).xcf.gz.
