WikiProject Beer is a loose association of Wikipedians with an interest in beer who have come together to suggest and discuss ways of developing the beer and brewery information on Wikipedia. It was started in March 2005 and has gathered a considerable number of members, though not all are active.

This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there, or just dig in and start editing.

This WikiProject aims to compile thorough and accurate information on different breweries and varieties of beer, including but not limited to their qualities, origins, and uses.

[edit] Goals

1. Formulate and agree upon criteria for notability of breweries.
2. Catalogue all the notable breweries, and write decent articles on them: Category:Beer and breweries by region.
3. Organize and categorize all known styles of beer, and write decent articles on them: Category:Beer styles.
4. Formulate and agree upon criteria for notability of beers.
5. (Eventually) catalogue notable beers.
6. Add other essential beer-related knowledge to Wikipedia.
   1. e.g., more detailed info on beer and nationality.
7. Get beer to a FA status.
8. Monitor Category:Beer and brewery stubs and develop those stubs into articles.
9. Add references and sources for information in the articles.
