Wikipedia:WikiProject Basketball/Templates

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Some templates we should be doing:

  • A standard basketball team infobox (at least for non-NBA teams)
  • A standard basketball team players list
  • A standard national basketball association infobox
  • A standard national basketball team infobox (needs improvement)
  • A standard basketball navigational box

[edit] Uniform

Following {{Football kit}} and {{Baseball uniform}} I modified {{Basketball kit}} ("kit" is British English for "uniform") so it actually works. It can use any of the hundreds of jersey patterns specified on the football kit articles. Anyway, I stuck it on a couple of national teams (Argentina and Spain) and thought it could be used for other teams. Maybe it could be used as the analogous templates are in {{Infobox football club}} and {{Infobox baseball team}}. Rolando 06:28, 5 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks, I've applied it at {{Infobox PBA team}} but it's kinda screwed up (there's a big gap at the bottom of the kits. Also, several new patterns have to be created (since basketball jerseys don't have sleeves, most of the designs are at the sides), and the jerseys and the shorts usually have the same colors. --Howard the Duck 09:13, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Looks great! Which browser are you using? As far as the patterns, try pattern_b=_thinsidesonwhite, e.g. If there is not a pattern that you like, create it and add it to the big list! Thanks and good luck! Rolando 13:26, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
I modified {{Basketball kit}} a little bit since it adds an extra white space at the bottom. It looks better now. (Btw, I use FF). --Howard the Duck 04:11, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Also, can patterns be added to the shorts? --Howard the Duck 05:26, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Added national team infobox

See {{Infobox national basketball team}}. Started out with Argentina, Spain national basketball team, the United States. Rolando 21:47, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
