- Add to the talk pages of users who are new to this project, but not new to Wikipedia, or to the talk pages of users who are new to this project, and new to Wikipedia.
Easy set-up instructions for yearly team articles: Place this template on a new page, changing the proper values for the year, full team name, three letter abbreviations, and full league name. (For the full league name, add "American League" or "National League" for any date up to 1968, and AL East, NL East, AL Central, NL Central, AL West, or NL West for any date 1969-present.) It will automatically add the necessary content. Note: It does not place an infobox. It would be easier if you create that yourself. Everything else should be there. Also, this is not flawless. You may have to make a few minor changes to capital/lowercase letters.

[edit] Guidelines
[edit] Players
- Naming convention
Follow the guidelines listed at Wikipedia:Naming conventions (baseball players)
- Notability
- Baseball figures are considered notable if they
- Meet the notability requirements of WP:BIO, as well as one of the following:
- Are a member of a major Hall of Fame, such as the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum or the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
- Have appeared in at least one game in any one of the following active major leagues: Major League Baseball, Nippon Professional Baseball, Korea Baseball Organization, Chinese Professional Baseball League or any other top-level foreign league.
- Have appeared in at least one game in any of the following defunct leagues: All-American Girls Professional Baseball League, American Association, Cuban League, Federal League, Japanese Baseball League, National Association of Professional Base Ball Players, Negro Major Leagues, Players League, Union Association.
- Have served as a commissioner, president, general manager, owner, coach, or manager in one of the above-mentioned leagues or affiliated minor leagues.
- Have played in at least a whole season in AAA baseball, played in the All-Star Futures Game, won a notable Minor League Baseball award, or been selected for any minor league baseball All-star game in the affiliated minor leagues.
- Have served as a Major League Baseball umpire on a regular league staff and have worked in at least one postseason or All-Star Game; umpires of the 19th century must have worked in at least 200 games. Minor league umpires are considered notable only if they have been elected to a league hall of fame or earned a similarly extraordinary honor, or if they have accomplished some historic achievement.

- Lists
When creating an article for an MLB player, remember to add his name to the list of Major League Baseball players. Also, when adding them to the list, make sure he has actually played in the majors. (This is sometimes an issue with prospects who were added to the 40-man roster without receiving a callup to the majors.)
From players to managers to owners, more info at Players task force.
[edit] Teams
- Article structure
The guidelines in this section are intended to serve as a starting point for writing a good article; they are not meant to enforce a single structure on all articles, nor to limit the topics an article will discuss. Defunct teams should be similarly structured to existing teams.
- Team info (template)
- Team history (abridged)
- Separate link to detailed history (when appropriate)
- Current roster (template)
- Retired numbers & HoFers
- Links to more info (template)
- Award winners & league leaders
- Team records (current records should be deleted on sight.)
- Players of note (non-HoFers)
- Team's HoF
- Broadcasters
- Managers & ownership
- Post-season series
Note: When using team abbreviations, please refer to WikiProject Baseball/Team abbreviations.

Bold text indicates an active player. (show for career lists only) Last updated July 11, 2007 {| class="wikitable" !Rank (or "Year" for champion lists) !Player !Team (omit for career records) !Stolen Bases |- |1 or 1903 |Rickey Henderson |Team1 |1406 |- |2 or 1904 |Lou Brock |Team2 |938 |- |}

- Old-time Base Ball task force is a task force aimed at improving the quality of baseball articles which involved topics Pre-1900, before the modern era of baseball.
- League and team article standardization is a task force aimed at standarizing all professional baseball league and team articles, including indexing (categories).
Region Specific
- Australian baseball task force is a task force aimed at improving the quality of Australian baseball related articles.
- Japanese baseball task force is a task force aimed at improving the quality of Japanese baseball related articles.
