[edit] To do

  • Update terminology for pre-existing articles (where appropriate)
    • Go to Category:Eponymous anatomical structures for a list of eponyms to shift.
  • Flesh out list on Articles page. Missing major structures, especially near the end.
  • Go through the articles and get rid of old terminology (and weird capitalization).
  • Add information - even non-stubs lack important facts that medical/basic medical science students are required to retain in their heads.
  • Consider the merge proposal in Talk:Vertebra which raises the issue of the need for integration (if not a merge, at least a clear division of material) between that article and the Vertebral column one.

[edit] Subproject: Gray's Anatomy

Gray's Anatomy is an incredible public domain resource for both text and images. Help gather together this treasure trove of information and integrate it into Wikipedia!

[edit] Goals

  1. Gather images from Gray's Anatomy and standardize the files, their descriptions, and their licensing.
  2. Gather text from Gray's Anatomy and integrate it into Wikipedia articles, while bringing the language up to date.

[edit] Images

There is a gallery of all Gray's images at Gray's Anatomy images with missing articles. Let's say you see "Missing Image: Gray310.png". Here's how to upload it:

  1. Find the image at http://www.bartleby.com/107/illus310.html
  2. Copy caption from beneath image. In this case, it is "Articulation of the mandible. Medial aspect."
  3. Convert to PNG format.
  4. Upload image to http://commons.wikimedia.org as Gray310.png
  5. Image description for images: {{Gray's Anatomy plate| Articulation of the mandible. Medial aspect.}}
  6. Add a few appropriate category labels and/or add the image to an appropriate gallery.

And on to the next one!

[edit] Text

Text needs to be brought up-to-date into modern language.
