[edit] Adelaide Freeways and Highways
Adelaide's transport infrastructure is comprised of three freeways: the South Eastern Freeway (route M1), the Southern Expressway and the recently completed Port River Expressway. The Northern Expressway is a proposed development linking Gawler with Port Wakefield Road (national route A1).

The South Eastern Freeway (route M1) forms a part of Australia's National Highway, connecting Adelaide with Melbourne and Sydney. The freeway comprises of three-lanes from its source (the intersection of Portrush Road, Cross Road and Glen Osmond Road at Glen Osmond, through to the Crafers exit. The freeway then continues as two lanes until Murray Bridge where the freeway terminates and becomes the Princes Highway (national route A1]].

[edit] Port River Expressway
The Port River Expressway is the major road link between port and rail terminals at Port Adelaide and Port Wakefield Road (the National Highway).
