[edit] Insults
You seem to like throwing insults and accusations around. Why don't you contribute something positive to the Wikipedia. --Great Barrington

[edit] Cease & desist
You've been added to my and my team's watch list. We'll be watching every move you make, 24 hours a day. Any time you post false information or anything which is opinionated or represents a certian point of view--we'll delete it immediately. And I mean everything! There's no way you'll be able to continue ruining Wikipedia for everyone else. Now, if you want to be positive, you cease and desist in your negative behavior immediately and consult a psychologist! I can help refer you to one if you need that assistance. Otherwise, I expect your behavior to clean up...understood?

- Would you mind pointing out my "negative behavior?"Wikster72 02:56, 9 February 2006 (UTC)
-
- Calling me a wikimenace, for one. Repeatedly accusing me of sockpuppeting. The list goes on. It seems you're a bit taken aback by the force of my commentary. I hope it serves its purpose, which is to mold you into a productive member of the Wikipedia community. I truly do hope it worked. 03:07, 9 February 2006 (UTC)~GreatBarrington

- Your "commentary" consists of one actual edit and everything else are warnings on talk pages. Before you start "molding me into a productive member of the Wikipedia community" figure out what that is and apply it to yourself. Wikster72 03:15, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New Sports Wiki
Hey Wikster72, me and a couple of buddies started this new sport-wiki, http://www.armchairgm.com, which combines blogs, news, voting, with the power of Mediawiki's (Wikipedia's) wiki engine.
I noticed you are Yanks, Jets, Devils, Nets, and Seahawks fan (tough game), so I thought you would be interested. When you have the chance, check out the site. We would love for you to join our community.

[edit] Shorthand golfer template
Hi Wikster, i noticed that you have been adding the golfer template in longhand format. While this is OK it misses the advantages of having a template in the first place. Note how I added the short hand template to the Tiger woods page. There are a few good reason for doing it this way. First, it is less space and more tidy with respect to wiki code. More importantly, if you need to make a change to the template in the future, with regard to style or content, you only have to do it once. Any edit to the template will seen in the Tiger Woods template. This is not true for the long hand version. In that case you will have to manually (or use a script) find and correct every template. - Yes. I didn't remember to use the template on the ones that I did. I'm in the process now changing them, I just haven't had a lot of time to do that in the past couple of days. Do you know to leave a space empty on the template, if there isn't any information or for example, the person didn't go to college? Thanks. Wikster72 03:38, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
- The college issue is distinctly American. It could be made into an optional field such that is only appears when it is full. A blank entry would not show up on the template. You need to decide if you want to have the templte be a PGA/american golfer template or a professional golfer template. David D. (Talk) 05:56, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] You keep asserting that Ilario Pantano has been "cleared" -- how come?
You keep asserting that Ilario Pantano has been "cleared"?
He willingly admitted to body desecration. You don't regard that as a serious crime? He explained why he desecrated his captive's corpses -- "to send a message". His desecration wasn't done in the heat of the moment. It was premeditated. You don't regard this as a serious crime? The officer in charge of his article 32 felt that he should be held responsible for his behavior. This is not the same as being "cleared". -- Geo Swan 13:51, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
-
- Your statement that his actions were premeditated are contrary to the military probe, which looked into this case.[1] Secondly, I believe I can safely say that if the charges against Pantano were dropped, that he was cleared.[2] If a person is a acquitted in a court of law, with the exception of insanity pleas or similar situations, they are considered to "cleared" of the charges brought against them. "Cleared" or "dropped charges" do not necessarily mean that the person did not commit a crime, only that a judge, or grand jury, did not feel it necessary to press charges. I have never said that Pantano did not kill anybody. Wikster72 06:52, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- In his June 2004 statement to military investigators Lieutenant Pantano kept repeating that he had planned to use maximum violence "to send a message". He told the investigators that he had briefed his men to use maximum violence "to send a message". You seem to be unwilling to acknowledge that the prior planning he willing admitted to makes his body desecration look premeditated.
- If a judge or prosecutor drops charges they give a reason -- one they have to be prepared to defend to higher courts. But General Huck's decision to ignore Major Winn's recommendation that Pantano should be held accountable for his body desecrations did not come with an explanation. Are you seriously arguing that this is the same as being "cleared"? -- Geo Swan 05:02, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
- I am not debating whether or not Pantano killed anyone, the evidence there is overwhelming. I am simply arguing that the charges against him were dropped, which is what in fact occurred. When I say "cleared" I mean it in the legal sense. I believe that I can safely say that Pantano was cleared, legally, as he was never found guilty in a court of law. If you would prefer that the wording on the Horace Mann School page be changed to "charges later dropped" or something referring to the legal charges, I believe that would be and could be a compromise. [edit] Golf images
Hi Wikster! You say that the copyright holder of this image Image:Chris DiMarco.jpg allows anyone to use it for any purpose. Has someone told you so? On the web page where the pic is from, it says Except for downloading one copy of the Materials on any single computer for your personal, non-commercial home use, you are not authorized to and may not reproduce, copy, transmit, alter, frame, distribute, perform, prepare derivative works based upon, or display the Materials in whole or in part without first obtaining the prior written permission of TSN. Have you? Regarding Image:Sergio Garcia.jpg I fail to get to the front page of the site, but to keep the image on wikipedia we do need to know that the license used, CopyrightedFreeUse, is correct.
In case you simply lifted the pics off the web and thought it would be OK, it is not and they will have to be deleted. // Habj 21:25, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- I have relabelled some of the images you uploaded as {{logo}} - the school's emblem and such should be fair use. The others, I have listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images#February 20 so a decision can be made regarding their copyright status. If you have something to say regarding this, that is the place. // Habj 22:49, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Your userpage was briefly delisted by a rogue admin
' | This user believes that only articles need reflect a NPOV, and that displaying political, religious, or other beliefs using userboxes and user categories should not be banned. |
You have a userbox Template:User UN which links your userpage to United Nations Wikipedians. There is currently a movement to ban userboxes from Wikipedia which are shared and which create Lists of Wikipedians. Certain admins have taken it upon themselves to preemptively sabotage and/or delete such categories and template. Here is the incident report which reported damage to yours, in which hundreds of userpages were delinked from categories without the users' knowledge. They have been stopped, barely, and the damage reverted— for now.
There is a Wikipedia:Userbox policy poll, which if passed, will make required by policy the damage done to categories and templates such as User UN/United Nations Wikipedians. If you do not want this to happen, I urge you to vote Oppose. in the poll. Support is currently running at about 66%, and your vote could make the difference. It is said to require 75%-80% to be deemed reflective of consensus.
Thank you,

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:160px-Sealcopy.jpg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:160px-Sealcopy.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Durin 16:09, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Comment from fellow member of Golf Project
Dear Wikster72, I saw on the golf project page where you are a fellow member. I clicked onto your user page and was delighted to see that adding images to articles was something that you like to do and do well. I have created about 83 golfer bio's but have added no images. I have also added content to about 15 or so existing golfer bio's, some of which (e.g. Lee Janzen, Corey Pavin, Arnold Palmer) have some terrific images. Please feel free to look over the pages I have created (listed on my user page), and if you are interested adding images - big-time guys like Jeff Sluman, Hubert Green, Andy Bean would be a good place to start.--Hokeman 02:35, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edits to Ulysses S. Grant
It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from an article. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:031030Kiskith.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:031030Kiskith.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:031030Kiskith.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:031030Kiskith.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:32, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:U.S. Senatorial Committee Assignments
A tag has been placed on Template:U.S. Senatorial Committee Assignments requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).
