[edit] sign posts

As a courtesy to other editors, it is a Wikipedia guideline to sign your posts on talk pages, user talk pages, and WikiProject pages. To do so, simply add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your comments and your user name or IP address and the date will be automatically added along with a timestamp. Signing your comments helps people to find out who said something and provides them with a link to your user/talk page (for further discussion). For further info, read Wikipedia:Talk page guidelines. Thank you. Travb (talk) 08:44, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About.com

Hi - the term "GuideSite" is internal About.com-speak only. I presume you're a Guide (I am too) but this isn't a term to use in a Wikipedia article. Thanks for improving the page, but could you remove the use of GuideSite? (I would, but I don't come on here often enough and I'm a little busy.213.254.90.177 01:36, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Wilmington logo.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Wilmington logo.gif. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:12, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:THIB.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:THIB.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] maintenance tags

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent contribution removed maintenance notices from Martin A. Nisenholtz, even though required changes haven't been made. If you are uncertain whether the page requires further work, or if you disagree with the notice, please discuss these issues on the page's talk page before removing the notice from the page. These notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of a page. Thank you. Natalie 02:03, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New York Times revert?

I had added a section on The New York Times talk about how several commentators and writers gave specific examples about alleged bias in The New York Times' writing. Everything was backed up by the sources and criciticisms yet you reverted it. I am curious to know why? Arnabdas 15:03, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Marion_indiana_1930_lynching_photo.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Marion_indiana_1930_lynching_photo.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. [edit] Vandalism???

"Wikiwatch" please refer to the vandalism page and explain my violation. I contributed information that was well cited and under the correct header. I did not blank the page, curse, or insert anything outside a NPOV. Just b/c you don't like the information does not mean its vandalism. I read all your contribs and noticed you pretty much just whitewash NYT or NYT linked information. 67.177.207.23 02:12, 17 August 2007 (UTC)67.177.207.23

[edit] Vandalism

Please stop your inappropriate and unjustifiable edits. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Arthur Ochs Sulzberger, Jr., you will be blocked from editing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.9.109.2 (talk) 21:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Ledgeronlinelogo88.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Ledgeronlinelogo88.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. [edit] Edit summaries

As has been asked of you several times, please provide an edit summary when reverting other people's edits: [1] [2] [3] (see Wikipedia:UNDO#Explain_reverts). Please also read up on WP:COI, as it appears that many of your edits have inside knowledge of the newspaper business and have consistently tried to remove objectionable content about newspapers.
