[edit] April 2006

Hey Wikipidian, the edit you tried to make to Jyllands-Posten Muhammad cartoons controversy inserted doubleinfo, doublelink and destroyed the original ref to http://www.zieler.dk/images.asp?fnavn=1opstandelsesspalte%202004.jpg&mappe=m-images&home=m-index.asp . Note also that there have been an enormous effort involved into balancing the text as it is now, - please propose changes on the talkpage if you are not willing to be reverted. --Anjoe 15:51, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Converts to Islam category

Assalamalaikum warahmatullah,

I have just been reading your very pretty and quite superb userpage and was wondering if you would like to add yourself to category:Converts to Islam. Kind regards, Wikipidian 01:02, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

That category is only for people with Wikipedia articles, so I shouldn't. joturner 01:04, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lebanese Casualties

Hi Wiki,

The Lebanese Minister says something like 'up to' 750. The unverified upper limit serves that purpose below where we discuss the possible lower and upper extremes, but it shouldn't be the representative number in the infobox. The 523 number was put together by a few people through subtractions of confirmed civilians from dead/addition of confirmed combatants, and is the highest verifiable"ish" number we have at the moment. Cheers, TewfikTalk 23:55, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Islamic Barnstar Award

Please offer your opinion, vote, or whatever about your choice for the image to be used with the Islamic Barnstar Award at the Barnstar proposals page. Although there is consensus for the concept of an Islamic Barnstar Award, some editors would like to change the image for the award. I was just thinking you should be aware of this discussion because you have contributed to Islamic-related articles, received the Islamic Barnstar Award, or have contributed to the Islam-related Wikiprojects, etc.--JuanMuslim 1m 03:00, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

  • I moved your vote of support for the original image of the Islamic Barnstar Award.--JuanMuslim 1m 16:49, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Info on Islamophobic group

Hello,

What follows are the thoughts, expressed in their own words, and in the 'protest signs', of the obscure, very small, but very vocal 'activist group' known as "Protest Warrior".

"What's becoming clear is how the religion of Islam is addicted to war and mayhem. Not a radical minority, not a rogue sect, but its very essence is about submission and sacrifice and proving your worth by worshipping death in this life to gain a paradise of orgies and drunkenness. Their entire history is of warfare, and any accomplishments of their so-called Golden Age has been proven to be merely parasitic off the cultures they've conquered and reduced to dhimmi servitude. That every country under sharia is corrupt, belligerent, desolate and barbaric obviously gives them no pause, except to constantly drive them into further psychotic rage as they refuse to ever accept any responsibility for their conditions. They are akin to the powers in Orwell's 1984; there must always be an enemy. It's no surprise that women are treated like property in these countries as that's the only way Muslim men can feed their egos, to dominate others rather than ever actually produce something."

Kfir Alfia and Alan Lipton, founders of "Protest Warrior"

Their 'protest signs'...

Signs

I thought you might be interested in this group's sentiments. They are currently very actively editing their own article on Wiki and there is a lot of 'group think'. Perhaps you might want to become involved in the editing and discussion process on that page. If you do, please don't vandalize, and try to remain civil. Should you not want to involve youself, please forgive my intrusion.

[edit] help with islam in china

i want your help with islam in china some islamaphobic people are deleting my rerences on the muslim population in china

Assalamalaikum Madman 0014 - I just had a quick read of the article and it looks pretty interesting, it's seems that China has a very rich Islamic heritage - Sa`d ibn Abī Waqqās (a companion of the Prophet SAW) was envoy to China!
I will inshallah see if I can contribute where possible (and necessary) next week as I'm too busy to get involved in a WikiRow just now. I will at least want to put greater emphasis on the history of Muslims in China in the lead section. In terms the population aspect you mentioned, I will only really help if it is justified - I was previously involved in population stuff on the Islam article but now I place less emphasis in getting across the number of Muslims (or increases) but now want to get across the beliefs/message of the religion against the tide of systemic bias. [edit] How can we sanction a user who uses personal and false accusations?

Please see question above? I am reletively new ... so I do not know how myself yet. Thank-you. Nonprof. Frinkus 21:42, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

My apologies but the section is essentially POV which isn't technically allowed on wikipedia regardless of who authored it. Wikipidian 21:52, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blanking

Your edit summaries, must be mistaken because this link seems to work perfectly. For the record: Please do not remove content from Wikipedia, as you did to Third holiest site in Islam. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- Avi 04:58, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

For the record - I did not remove that link (see my - per my edit summary). All of my edits were removal of dubious content from unreliable sources (mostly self-serving tourism websites) and I tried to leave properly sourced content untouched. Wikipidian 21:54, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 3rd site

Hello. If you think it is obvious, can you please answer this question that I asked yesterday? Thanks. -- Avi 01:00, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

When referring to hadith, Muslim's are referring to the Prophet's words or actions - not his companions, other islamic scholars or any old joe blogg. The two primary sources of evidence in Islam are the quran and prophetic hadith. The Imam Ali source was clearly referring to the saying of Imam Serdeg. Anyways I clarified the lead section so that it now says "Prophetic hadith". Wikipidian 01:16, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you. -- Avi 01:42, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] RVs

Kindly desist from reverting my edits without giving me the courtesy of an explanation of why you dispute my edits. Glyns 22:31, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi Glyn, I'm just checking out your 'mass 'edits made on a lot of the suran articles, for example this one is an article on Surah 39 and has little to do with Sura 8 and 9. Maybe your edits would be more suitable for inclusion on a general article like Qur'an or one of its sub-articles. --Matt57 00:51, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I am prepared to accept 'Matt57's suggestion that my note appear on the Qur'an page (under the "Format of the Qur'an" section) rather than on each sura page - thank you for this constructive proposal, finally! Glyns 11:13, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm surprised that it wasnt suggested to you before. Also its hard to maintain that same text in 35 pages as you saw. I hope you're able to find the most appropriate place for this. It would have to be in the Qur'an article, or in one of its sub-article, or if any such article/section doesnt exist, a new section or article could be made on the structure of the Quran, ordering of the Surahs and other issues such as this numbering issue. You could start with creating a section and then if it gets long, make a new article on it. --Matt57 15:10, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

Do you agree with 'Matt57's suggestion, above? If not, please make a counter-proposal. Glyns 15:28, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Abdul-Azeez ibn Abdullaah Aal ash-Shaikh

Because of the phrase "He is one of the most important Sunni Muslim clerics in the world." It is subjective statement and the wording, although questionably, falls under the category of weasel. Best to tag it as such in hopes that the article will be cleaned up and fleshed out. I hope I did not cause you any offense. --Ozgod 01:41, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:BahaMousa-Indy17Jun07.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BahaMousa-Indy17Jun07.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chris.B 16:29, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
