[edit] Speedy deletion of Joseph Finnegan (cryptographer)
A tag has been placed on Joseph Finnegan (cryptographer), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. KrakatoaKatie 00:16, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Power eileenr.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Power eileenr.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 20:53, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate images uploaded
Thanks for uploading Image:Power eileen.jpg. A machine-controlled robot account noticed that you also uploaded the same image under the name Image:Power eileenr.jpg. The copy called Image:Power eileenr.jpg has been marked for speedy deletion since it is redundant. If this sounds okay to you, there is no need for you to take any action.
This is an automated message- you have not upset or annoyed anyone, and you do not need to respond. In the future, you may save yourself some confusion if you supply a meaningful file name and refer to 'my contributions' to remind yourself exactly which name you chose (file names are case sensitive, including the extension) so that you won't lose track of your uploads. For tips on good file naming, see Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions about this notice, or feel that the deletion is inappropriate, please contact User:Staecker, who operates the robot account. Staeckerbot 21:00, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Hollerith in Georgetown, Washington, D.C.
You've twice reverted this arguably spurious addition without comment. I previously opened a discussion at Talk:Georgetown, Washington, D.C., and it would be helpful if you'd participate there before changing it again. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 03:14, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
- Following your reversion today without an accompanying attempt to discuss the edit (or even acknowledgment), I've asked for assistance from other editors here - Wikipedia:Editor_assistance/Requests#Georgetown.2C_Washington.2C_D.C._-_silent_edit_war JohnInDC (talk) 19:06, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Georgetown, Washington, D.C.. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. JohnInDC (talk) 00:58, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Talk page discussion
There is discussion on the Talk:Georgetown, Washington, D.C. page about your changes to the article. There is probably a way to include some brief mention of Tabulating Machine Company, but not focus so much on Hollerith. Also, we really need citations per our editing policies. Wikipedia only works well when people work together and reach consensus on things. A key way to do this is using article talk pages. It would help things greatly if you would weigh in on the talk page and discuss the changes you want to make. Regards. --Aude (talk) 05:42, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- We really need you to discuss the changes on the talk page - Talk:Georgetown, Washington, D.C.. Being insistent on making the changes without discussing them is becoming disruptive. We would like to work with you on the changes. Thanks. --Aude (talk) 19:50, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] June 2008
Please stop with your persistent, unconstructive and unexplained edits to Georgetown, Washington, D.C.. This has been going on for months and it is growing tiresome. JohnInDC (talk) 19:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
