[edit] Welcome

Howdy! Welcome to Wikipedia; I noticed your comment on the Wikipedia talk:Vandalism page. I have replied there, but I moved the discussion to the bottom of the page. Unless indicated otherwise, new disucssions should generally be started at the bottom of a page. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page, User_talk:TeaDrinker, if I can help with anything. Keep up the good work and again, welcome! --TeaDrinker 22:14, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Test templates

Hi, could you please substitute warning templates after you issue them? As you can see from this list, or specific templates, that it is suggested that you substitute them by typing "subst:" before the name of the template. Ryūlóng 08:51, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks for the tip! Wikichange 15:17, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Indiana stubs

Hi - good to see someone writing a few geo-stu articles on places in Indianapolis... just thought I'd let you know that each US state has its own geo-stub template, so if you could use Indiana-geo-stub rather than US-geo-stub it'll save a litle bit of sorting later. Cheers - and keep up the good work! :) Grutness...wha? 00:24, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ball State Cardinals

Hi, Although it is great to see articles about my alma mater, I think it makes more sense to merge the Ball State Cardinals article with the Ball State article. Moorematthews 13:31, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Question

How do I add anti-vandal protection to my pages? Wikichange 18:26, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Page protection

Just to let you know, adding {{sprotected}} or {{protected}} to a page is only a means for an admin to notify users that a page is protected. This does not actually confer protection to the article. If you need help protecting a page, please contact an admin or request it. Thanks! -- Omicronpersei8 (talk) 07:05, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Dates

Hey, I was just wondering why you bother changing linked dates like "1 January" to "January 1" since the MediaWiki software changes the format based on the user preferences automatically. If you want a date to show up as "January 1" then you should check your preferences to make sure that's the way dates show for you. Or is there some style guideline that you're following? Dismas|(talk) 09:48, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure I made myself clear. I don't want to change it back. I just think you're doing extra work that doesn't need to be done. I say this because both [[1 January]] and [[January 1]] both show up as January 1 because that's how your preferences are set. So it doesn't really matter what the raw code looks like, they both look the same to the reader. See what I'm saying? Dismas|(talk) 10:09, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Thecircle.jpg

Did you take this? If so, can you licence it properly for Wikipedia? It's a great picture and it'd be a shame if it was deleted. --Guinnog 07:10, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Village

I noticed you edited the Ball State University article to call the Village "University Village." Is this really its "full" name? As a fellow BSU student, I've never heard it called anything other than just "the Village". --L. Pistachio 08:33, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Northen Indiana.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Northen Indiana.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:08, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:BSUNewLogo.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:BSUNewLogo.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 20:36, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
