[edit] My concern about your username

Hello, WikiBully, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

Your name has the word bully in it, which people may take as bullying people or users

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Let me reassure you that my writing here means I don't think your username is grossly, blatantly, or obviously inappropriate; such names get reported straight to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention or blocked on sight. This is more a case where opinions might differ, and it would be good to reach some consensus — either here or at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. So I look forward to a friendly discussion, and to enjoying your continued participation on Wikipedia. Thank you. --R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 02:12, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

R may not think your username is grossly inappropriate, but I do. That's why you're blocked. DS 01:08, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandal report

Please expand on your report. Diffs would be useful. I do also concur with R, above. Your username could be viewed with alarm by those you interact with. Please do change it. --Dweller 20:56, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unblock Requested

This blocked user (block log | autoblocks | unblock | contribs) has asked to be unblocked, but one or more administrators has reviewed and declined this request. Other administrators can also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy). This unblock request continues to be visible. Do not replace this message with another unblock request.

Request reason: "This user has requested to be unblocked so that he/she can file a request on Wikipedia:Changing username to change his/her name to WikiBully is a harmlessly ironic name that does not clearly violate WP guidelines or policies (talk · contribs)."

Decline reason: "Serious requests only please. – Steel 01:18, 28 May 2007 (UTC)"

Y

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Web translator gives "Boel" as "Affair", so I'm assuming good faith, and allowing username change to WikiBoel (talk · contribs). Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking.

Request handled by: Steve (Stephen) talk 02:20, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

"Boel" being an old Dutch/German word meaning "lover", so "WikiBoel" would be Wiki-Lover WikiBully 01:40, 28 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry for bothering you, but...

Hello, although I am not a member of wikipedia, you may know me as the guy who edited and "deleted" a part of the list of minor Star Wars jedi knights. Anyway, I received a message from you saying that I vandalised the page by deleting something. I don't want to bother, but I would really like to clear my name. See, the Jedi that I deleted was not a jedi knight, but a jedi master, so I copied and pasted his info on to the list of minor Star Wars jedi masters. I then deleted his page on the list of minor Star Wars jedi knights to avoid confusion. I understand how you may have saw this as vandalism, but it's been really bothering me that wikipedia thinks I would do something that bad. So I was wondering, could you somehow delete that message? My computer keeps saying that I have one new message, and it's the same thing. By the way, to prevent this from happening again, how can I make it known that I moved some data rather than deleting it? Currently, on the list of minor Star Wars jedi knights, I re-edited the character that I deleted (who was put back up) to say that he is a master, not a knight. Is that a good solution? Thank you for your time, sorry to bother you.
