It was a Tuesday tonight in New York City. But not just any night, the presidential elections were coming to a close, and this studio was in the middle of it. From scandals to commercials, he had covered it, he had seen everything happen. And now, at this moment, it was all coming to a close. The rush of adrenaline for the one-hundredth time that night came in. And now it was going to cease, this stressful day was about to end. He could not wait to go home, and sleep, and see the new president tomorrow, but this was his job. As he slid into the chair, for the first time that day, he breathed easily. The TelePrompTer turned on, and it was checked. Nothing could go wrong tonight, especially in the beginning. He looked around the room, strange that just one year ago, this was all unfamiliar. It was 6:59, just one hour, and then it’d be over. Amazing how he had learned so much, advanced so much, and yet only get an hour. ‘But one hell of an hour’, he thought. And then, without too much warning, the end of a very long day came to an end. “Good Evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Roger Carson, tonight we are following one of the most heated presidential races of all time. In just a moment, the polls on the east coast will close, and we will go over to our electoral map. Until then, we are going to bring you the highlights of this campaign.” The first part was over; he would now drink his water, for the two minutes the tape of things people already knew played. He still listened, even though he could name everything in the video by heart. “…I stand by my vote against the education reform bill.” ‘It was amazing’, Roger thought, ‘that someone could even think about voting against a law that would increase the punishment for bullies! Obulusly, he had to keep that to himself. Just one mention of something likes that, and he would be called partisan. But it didn’t worry him too much. He had been called many things in the past before. Anyways, it was time for the first results to be announced. “Thank you Jamie for that report. We now have the results for the east coast. We are predicting Maine to go to Williams, and Vermont to go to…..”

The Vice President had gone through so much in the past 100 days. So much that he overdid himself when it came to results. He had on NBC, CNN, ABC, FOX, and MSNBC; not to mention over five channels on local stations in swing-state cities. But it was boring now; he didn’t want to watch a map light up into three different colors. He was sleepy, but he had to stay awake, and so he called his Campaign Manager in the room. “Can we make any last minute efforts now?” “Most likely not, since by the time we get a message out, the results would have already been announced.” “What about last minute voting, are long lines good for me?” His advisor breathed in deeply. “I guess I’ll take that as a no.” “But there still is a chance we can get Robby to spread a message?” “What would you propose we say?” The advisor had waited his entire career to do this, now it was his chance.
