[edit] Sandboxes (longer term edits)
See my sandboxes for what I am currently working upon in terms of major edits, search for references, etc. Once those articles are satisfactory, they are added into the Wikipedia encyclopedia and those drafts will be deleted from the Wikipedia site.
- Gnaeus Cornelius Scipio Calvus draft; or, go to the current Wikipedia article
- Publius Licinius Crassus Dives (consul 205 BC) draft; or, go to the current Wikipedia article
Other articles to be moved eventually into the sandbox are biographies of Roman senators prominent in the Second Punic War:
- Marcus Cornelius Cethegus, consul 203 BC; article significantly amended May 2007
- Quintus Fulvius Flaccus, several times consul; article significantly amended May 2007
- Publius Sempronius Tuditanus, consul 203 BC; article created May 2007.
- Watch this space for additions

- these recent articles for a sampling of some of my most recent work, or
- my work by category for a sampling of some of my work by categories, or:
- my work on Rome-related articles only for a sampling of some of my work on Roman historical personages
- What I need to do on individual articles as a checklist for those articles.
[edit] What I last mucked up
This section serves as a reminder to myself, a checklist to would-be adopters, and a general warning to all!
- Moving Sempronia (gens) to Sempronius (gens) went elsewhere thanks to a spelling error, and I have a double redirect now. Have asked administrator help on this one to sort it out.
- Creating a category for alleged girlfriends of Prince William, to put in a few names appearing on Wikipedia. Alleged, as in reported by broadsheet newspaper stories. No go, however, so that's fine by me.
[edit] About me
Please be nice and patient with this New Wikipedian. |
As of 20 May 2007, I am still looking for an adopter... actually two experienced Wikipedians at least, one to check/ advise on my usage of Wiki tools, format etc (please, please!); and one to check on the general quality of my contributions (preferably with shared interests in history or biography). If you want to comment, please do so on my talk page.
My Interests
- Republican Rome (Early Republic, Middle Republic);
- history;
- biography;
- royalty, nobility;
- elite family groups (i.e. mostly family groups that specialize in something such as education, science, literature, culture, social work, etc). Examples of these include the Wedgwoods, Darwins, Huxleys, Peases, Frys, etc. I am not particularly interested in purely political or business families.
My presence on Wikipedia:
- I was a member upto 2006, but forgot the id in a nearly year-long absence from Wikipedia (and other Internet pursuits).
- My earliest edits circa 2001-2002 appear to have been under yet another id (now forgotten).
- For some years, I also did some anonymous edits from cybercafes whenever my connection at home was down, or my machine on the blink.
- Since I wanted to do mostly biographical edits and had forgotten my old ids and their passwords, I rejoined Wikipedia again on March 12, 2007 (or thereabouts). My current id is therefore "Wikibiohistory". I consider myself a new Wikipedian, because so much has changed in a year or more and I really don't know the new formatting.
- Want to know more? All those boxes.
