Template talk:WikiProject Retailing/old

[edit] Not suitable for histmerging?

  • The histories of Template:WikiProject Retailing and User:Tuxide/Sandbox/retailing-template look as if both pages existed at the same time and both were being edited separately. Anthony Appleyard 05:49, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
    • I wasn't the one who requested a splice. User:Tuxide/Sandbox/retailing-template is a clone and not a derivative work of the other, so there should be no problem in deleting the original. Tuxide 05:55, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
  • To be clear: Which was copied from which and when? Which copy is "the original"? Anthony Appleyard 10:22, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
    • {{WikiProject Retailing}} is the original. User:Tuxide/Sandbox/retailing-template is a clone and not a derivative work of {{WikiProject Retailing}}. The first edit of User:Tuxide/Sandbox/retailing-template is [1]. I am the author of both templates. Tuxide 10:33, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Do you want me to delete Template:WikiProject Retailing and then move User:Tuxide/Sandbox/retailing-template to Template:WikiProject Retailing? Anthony Appleyard 14:45, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
    • I like to know why the edit history of this version should not be preserved? Because if this template is deleted, then so will the edit history. Tuxide also hasn't make it clear why the edit history of his standboxed version is more important the the edit history of the original version. --Farix (Talk) 16:38, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
  • Re the new histmerge request (to histmerge User:Tuxide/Sandbox/retailing-template into Template:WikiProject Retailing/old), there is nothing to do, as User:Tuxide/Sandbox/retailing-template has only one edit, which is a redirect to Template:WikiProject Retailing. (As I am an admin, I can read deleted files.) Anthony Appleyard 22:04, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
