General parameters:

  • class – a rating of the article's quality; see Wikipedia:WikiProject Heraldry and vexillology/Assessment for more details. Valid values are:
    • FA - The article has reached Featured article status.
    • A - Could be submitted as a Featured article candidate; probably could use some small updates to make it Featured quality.
    • GA - The article has reached Good article status.
    • B - Could be submitted as a Good article nominee; probably could use some updates or may lack some features from the Good article criteria, but it presents a good overview of the subject.
    • Start - The article is more than a stub, but may lack some important aspects of the topic's discussion.
    • Stub - The article is a stub; it likely contains one of the heraldry and vexillology stub templates.
    • NA - The page is not an article and should not be rated; it could be a template, image or category, for example.
    • Needed - The article does not yet exist but has been identified as a subject that should be covered.
    • List - The article is a list or gallery of flags or coats of arms (or similar), probably with very little text.

Maintenance parameter (set it to "yes" to include it):

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.

[edit] Notes

  • Please use lowercase forms. E.g. imageneeded, imagedetails and yes. The uppercase forms generally do not work.
  • A few redlink categories need fixing to get the Portal / Review functions working. The needed category tree can be seen under the WP:MILHIST project.
  • Task forces are supported but this function has not been activated.
  • The image request feature is listed "below the fold" when used. If people feel this is a problem, please let me know.
  • Please report any other errors if you see them. Thanks! Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 15:44, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
