	Template:WikiProject Central Asia is part of WikiProject Central Asia, a project to improve all Central Asia-related articles. This includes but is not limited to Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Xinjiang, Tibet and Central Asian portions of Iran and Russia, region-specific topics, and anything else related to Central Asia. If you would like to help improve this and other Central Asia-related articles, please join the project. All interested editors are welcome.

This template adds Category:WikiProject Central Asia automatically to the Talk pages of articles where it is placed. Other categories may be added depending on the parameters selected. This template is a self-reference. Please add it to the article's talk page.

If your edit causes unexpected problems, please undo it quickly, as this template may appear on a large number of pages. The {{WikiProject Central Asia}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

Template display formatting parameters:

• small - show the normal or reduced size template; shows the reduced size template if small=yes.
• nested - allows for the banner to be hidden with a show/hide button in conjunction with the WikiProjectBannerShell template if nested=yes.

General parameters:

• class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
  • FA - The article has reached Featured article status.
  • A - Could be submitted as a Featured article candidate; probably could use some small updates to make it Featured quality.
  • GA - The article has reached Good article status.
  • B - Could be submitted as a Good article nominee; probably could use some updates or may lack some features from the Good article criteria, but it presents a good overview of the subject.
  • Start - The article is more than a stub, but may lack some important aspects of the topic's discussion.
  • Stub - The article is a stub; it likely contains one of the Central Asia stub templates.
  • NA - The page is not an article and should not be rated; it could be a template, image or category, for example.
• importance – a rating of the article's importance; see the assessment department for more details.

• attention – "yes" if the article requires immediate attention; this should be used sparingly. Adds page to Category:Central Asia articles needing attention
• reassess - "yes" if the article requires a reassessment. Adds page to Category:Central Asia articles needing reassessment
• merge - "yes" if the article should be merged. Adds page to Category:Central Asia articles needing merge action
• dab - "yes" if the article is a disambiguation page. Adds page to Category:Disambig-Class Central Asia articles
• cat - "yes" if the article is a category. Adds page to Category:Category-Class Central Asia articles by quality
• needs-infobox – "yes" if the article lacks a Central Asia Infobox, otherwise remove this line.
• Tuva - "yes" if the article is part of the Tuva task force. Adds page to Category:Tuva task force.

To avoid needlessly cluttering up talk pages, it is usually appropriate to remove any unused parameters from the template.
