Assign class of article using:{{WikiProjectFireService|class=}} Classes are FA, FL, A, GA, B, start, stub, dab, image, redirect, Template, category, list, and portal. Non-Articles are given NA and not categorized.
Assign importance of article using:{{WikiProjectFireService|importance=}} Importance ratings are Top, High, Mid, or Low.
Assignment places the article in the appropriate category. All articles join Category:WikiProject Fire Service and all articles without a class= variable are assigned to Category:Unassessed Fire service articles.
