[edit] Summary
Vandalism on the English Wikipedia article sponge. This vandal made two edits, replacing information with childish remarks. The next editor removed the vandal's remarks without restoring the information they had replaced. Nobody else noticed and the material remained absent for several weeks. The diff shown can be found here. (For those interested, reverting is the correct way to deal with vandalism).
