[edit] Deletion of Wiikey

A tag has been placed on WiiKey", requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how WiiKey" is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:WiiKey" saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. --Allen3 talk 00:44, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

I deleted the article WiiKey under Speedy deletion G4 because it appeared to be a direct extraction of material from the February 19 version of the article that was deleted via this AfD discussion. More specifically, the introductory paragraphs were very similar in wording, and the "Specifications" section of the March 13 version was dominated by a list containing only minor wording differences from the list in the "Features" section of the February 19 version. The only new content included in the march 13 version was an empty "References" section and an external link to a video game player wiki. --Allen3 talk 17:31, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

The original justification for deleting it was lack of information. There was new information in my version, and thus G4 doesn't apply. I added new information about the chip, and was planning on adding more later when I had time. Besides, how much information is needed to keep an article? It looks like the only one or two people wanted the original Wiikey article pulled. Doesn't seem logical, if there are articles out there that have substantially less information in them. I say, re-create the article and give it sometime to develop before you cut it down. WiiUser23 (talk) 17:45, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
What new content? As I mentioned earlier, the only "new content" was an empty reference section and and external link to a site that may or may not satisfy the guidelines for external links. If you truly want the article restored then you can start by finding citable reliable sources so any recreation can meet Wikipedia's verifiability requirements. --Allen3 talk 18:56, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
All the information provided was from the manufacturer’s website. Also, once again I explained I added new information from their site. You don't delete an entire article because I forgot to include the link to the source. You tag it with the appropriate "cite sources" tag. Please restore, and I will add the tag to the information. Feel free to take this to Wikipedia:Deletion review if you wish to overturn the results of the AfD. Until then, you have done nothing to address the issues raised at the AfD, nor the issues that would inevitably arise during a deletion review (primarily the existence of independent third party sources needed to provide verifiability). --Allen3 talk 20:55, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
