Henrik Wigström (1862-1923) was born in Ekenäs or Tammisaari, Finland and died in Finland. A very important Fabergé workmaster.
Wigström was apprenticed to a local silversmith Petter Madsen. Michael Perkhin's assistant from 1886 and head workmaster after his death in 1903. The number of craftsmen in Wigström's workshop diminished drastically with the outbreak of Worldwar I. By 1918, the Revolution forced the complete closing of the House of Fabergé. Aged 56, Wigström retreated almost empty-handed to his sumer house, on Finnish territory, and died there in 1923.
His objects are similar to Michael Perkhin's but tend to be in the Louis XVI, Empire Style or neo-classical style. Nearly all the hardstone animals, figures and flowers were produced under his supervision.
