[edit] Summary
An abandoned natural cement mine in the Rosendale natural cement region. Interior view of the Widow Jane Mine on the Snyder Estate, which is now maintained by the Century House Historical Society. This section of the mine is in the Rosendale Member of the Rondout Formation. All that is left of the dolostone in the Rosendale Member are the pillars, left behind by miners to support the weight of the overlying rocks. Photo by Kurtis C. Burmeister
