Wickmania

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wickmania is a slang term used to describe the procedure in contemporary, computer graphics-heavy filmmaking where the principle camera is used to capture a lighting reference at the end of each setup for later use in image based lighting. More specifically, "Wickmania" refers to often hilarious non-requiter appearance of a visual effects camera assistant in frame (usually accompanied by a smash zoom) at the end of a series of takes holding the chromed balls, or light probes, used in the visual effects lighting process.
