"Why Do I Keep Counting?" is a song by Las Vegas-based rock band The Killers and is the penultimate track on their second album Sam's Town, which was released in October 2006. The lyrics of the song have to do with lead singer Brandon Flowers phobia of flying in airplanes, as evidenced by the lyrics (such as "Will I live to have some children?"; "Help me get down, I can't make it")[1]
The beginning of the song, has a bell riff, and breathy vocals by Brandon Flowers. At 0:30 seconds, a piano and drums comes in, there is light guitar in the background. At 0:50 seconds the song begins to gradually become louder. At 0:54 backing vocals start.
The song is not a single.
