This synopsis is based on the script of the play.

The story takes place at Poppy cabin for a couple's retreat weekend. Where Diana and her husband Terry come to help clean up before Sheila and her husband Mike arrive. When Sheila and Mike arrive, Sheila is left carrying the bags into the cabin, while Mike meets everybody. Sheila who used to be a skinny woman has gained 80 pounds due to being stressed, and Mike makes her feel no better, because he always makes fun of her weight. Sheila and Diana catch up on things. Sheila tells Diana that she invited Trina. Trina is the gold digger of the story. Diana does nothing but express her hatred for her once she walks into the door. A fight breaks out and Trina walks out the door, with Mike following her. Once they return, Diana demands that Trina tells Sheila the truth about Mike and her. When Sheila demands that Mike pays for their part of the weekend, a used condom falls out of Mike's pocket. At that time, Trina confesses to sleeping with Mike. This leaves Sheila hurt, to the point, she grabs Poppy's gun and starts shooting towards Mike and shoots him in the butt.

The second act starts a year later, Mike and Sheila have broken up, and it is the weekend for the couples retreat at Poppy's cabin. Mike and Trina walk through the door and lets them know that they are now married. Once again Diana and Trina get into it. Mike secretly starts confessing to Terry that he misses Sheila. Troy shows up and with a new girlfriend. In walks Sheila, she lost the weight and is showing that she is happy again. Then she tells Diana that Troy and her are now married. Things started really going down hill with Mike and Trina because Trina is starting to spend money he doesn't have because his business isn't doing to good. Mike tries to push up on Sheila but she's not having it and explains that she is now happy with Troy.

In a way, Poppy plays the Madea of this play.
