Why Bother? is the fourth song from Weezer's second album, Pinkerton. Singer/songwriter Rivers Cuomo wrote it about him questioning whether to attempt having a relationship with a woman, thinking in the end she will leave him and it will hurt him. He ultimately decides he'd rather "keep wackin'."
This song was originally intended for the abandoned Songs from the Black Hole.
During the 2005 tour for Make Believe, Brian Bell would sing lead vocals.
