[edit] Featured article for December 25th

I noticed that you have listed yourself as an atheist Wikipedian. You will probably be interested to know that Brian0918 has nominated Omnipotence paradox as the front page article for December 25th. You can vote on this matter here. The other suggestion being supported by others for that date is Christmas, although Raul654 has historically been against featuring articles on the same day as their anniversary/holiday. [edit] John Lennon's Imagine

That's a great userbox you created. I have added it to my user page. Are you interested in creating a category to go with it? Daykart 04:35, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi, saw the Lennon userbox (Daykart pointed me at it). Really nice! Seeing you're atheist and freethinking ;), perhaps you'd be interested in this one? {{user humanist}} Larix 12:54, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Question

Hi, I saw some of your userboxes, and I like some...especailly the Gmail one. Can a borrow some?--ViolinGirl 01:52, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks!--ViolinGirl 12:09, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

I've been working on some new ones, if you like.--Mike Nobody =/\= 23:03, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Do you know any good free hosting sites, which allow MP3s & video and hotlinking? I was using Ripway.com for awhile (they're pretty good) but apparently they've been spamming people and links to them are now blocked from Wikipedia and other Wiki sites. I use Rapidshare.com for bigger files (see User:Mike Nobody External Links) but they have the annoying habit of redirecting listeners to their site to download. Anyone interested in hearing some tunes or see some video are welcome, though.--Mike Nobody =/\= 19:32, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Userboxes don't work as well. Making thumbs work was a bitch as it was. Here's a little smaller, hope you like :)--

  • This is as good as I can get the userbox. Colors wouldn't work, and links became problematic inside the box. Kept getting HTML errors trying to improve on it.--

[edit] CFD

Hello, Category:Wikipedians interested in wikipedians has been deleted per Wikipedia:Categories for deletion/Log/2005 December 17#Category:Wikipedians interested in wikipedians. You may want to remove it from your userpage. Thanks. Izehar 17:43, 26 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Not Narrow Userbow

I felt that the userbox would look better and flow more easily into the rest of the sexuality-related activism userboxes if the font was not bolded and did not take up three lines. Morgan695 05:11, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List of anti-heroes

I just want to inform you that the article List of anti-heroes was deleted today after being listed on VfD. I am not sure if you knew it was listed or not, or if you care or not. I felt, since you had participated as a contributor on the article that you should know. If you want to know more about the status of the now deleted article, I have made a post in Wikipedia:Deletion review. If you don't want to know more, please disregard this message. sincerely, Kingturtle 21:41, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Save the flag!

Hello. Recently I got a notice that my "Stars and Swastikas" flag in the Userbox regarding political affiliations has been threatened with deletion. My girlfriend and I created the flag ourselves for the purpose of personal expression (like in userboxes) and some folks don't think that's a good enough reason to leave it be. Any support on this would be appreciated, as I'm still kinda new around here. Thanks.--

Seriously, I liked your userboxes and purloined many of them. Thanks! Justin Eiler 20:05, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Photo removal

The photo of a kitten on your user page had been incorrectly labeled as being in the public domain. In reality, it is a stock photo that has not been licensed for Wikipedia, so I had to remove it. I hope you can find a suitable replacement if that is important to you. --Michael Snow 02:08, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:MLNW Button.jpg

I'm afraid this is a fair use immage and not allowed on userpages. Could you remove it please?Geni 01:44, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

I, Shell (DotShell), would like to personally invite you to join the UDUIW. You can do this by adding our userbox or simply adding yourself to our category. Thank you for your time. --Shell 02:58, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising

The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Wikipedia namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:32, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD votes

I saw your vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Religion of Love, and while of course I agree with your vote (as I am the nominator), I think you could have been a little more polite in the way you phrased your comment. The author of the article is a newbie to Wikipedia, and will probably not be very pleased by having two of his articles nominated for deletion, but he doesn't deserve to be treated rudely.-Mr Adequate 02:02, 13 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] fraktur link

Thanks for cleaning up the external links in Fraktur and providing better link text. But why did you delete the link to www.fraktur.com? It is a commercial purveyor of fonts, I agree, but so is Waldenfont whom you left there, and the company in question (Delbanco) has one of the largest collection of Fraktur and related German typefaces in fact. LHOON 19:30, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Google and Privacy Issues

I saw that you made one of the reverts. There seems to be a revert war emerging with the User:Striver claiming the revert made by you violate NPOV because "all points of view must be mentioned". See Page History--Jersey Devil 17:31, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AWB

While I was talking about the article Mozilla Firefox on Wikipedia talk:AutoWikiBrowser, you edited it using the AWB. That is just unbelieveably weird. However, the reason I am commenting here is because the aforementioned edit is extremely minor. Upon glancing though it, everything deals with adding or removing whitespace. Please, as per AWB rules, "check every edit before you save it" and "avoid making extremely minor edits such as adding or removing a single space." Thank you, though, for conforming to the rules regarding editing speed using the AWB. --M@thwiz2020 21:09, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikify The Laughing Corpse

WBN, thanks for the tip. Am I missing something other than emphasizing the article title in the first paragraph? Thanks, TheronJ 22:15, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Revert of Bondage (BDSM) article

I mistakenly reverted to the wrong version when I tried to get rid of a spam link (that also didn't work). Thanks for catching it. ... discospinster 13:39, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

A watered-down version of the proposed policy against censorship is now open for voting. Will you knidly review the policy and make your opinions known? Thank you very much. Loom91 11:33, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fight Song

As a grad of both Northwestern University and Cloverleaf Senior High, I just wanted to give you a heads-up that the Cloverleaf High fight song IS the same as Northwestern's. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimsimo (talkcontribs) 11:26, May 8, 2006 (UTC)

Not a problem - hope all is well back in southern Medina County. Is it still as boring as it was in the 80s? --Jim Simo 15:27, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AfD Nomination Wipipedia

I've nominated the article Wipipedia for deletion under the Articles for deletion process. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Wipipedia satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. I have explained why in the nomination space (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wipipedia. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them. You are free to edit the content of Wipipedia during the discussion, but please do not remove the "Articles for Deletion" template (the box at the top). Doing so will not end the discussion.
