WHVL

WHVL was a very popular Top-40 station on 1600 KHz AM in Hendersonville, North Carolina. At any given time most radios in Hendersonville were tuned to WHVL. Many popular people worked at WHVL at one time or another. Dave Lyons, Chuck Finley, Glenn Trent(GT), Brother Bill, Dave Stafford, Bruce Chandley(Radar, Truckin Tom) The Mountain Man, Mark W. Sterling, Michelle Anderson, and many others did their tours through the station. 1600 in Hendersonville is now the home to Adult Standards WTZQ. Many people still remember the great days of "Super 16".

The call letters, "WHVL", are now assigned to a Low-power broadcasting station; WHVL-LP, in State College, Pennsylvania
