[edit] Your recent edits

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button Image:Signature_icon.png located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 17:13, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] re: Freddie Scott

Yes, it was a reinstate of the previous copyvio. I've removed it again. Thanks for letting me know. -- JLaTondre 22:27, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] re: PDEngNN

that was not an attack on a person, and was the documentation of a controversial issue. If you do not agree with the POV either discuss it or edit the page, taking it down because you do not agree with the stance, with no discussion, is not the spirit of wikipedia, or democracy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lordofall123 (talkcontribs) 03:34, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

sorry, i was unaware that i did that, i have never used wikipedia editing before and was just looking around to see if i could improve the page, and deleted something, i guess the aforementioned requests for deletion on accident. 67.185.111.147 (talk) 22:41, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for your help

Thanks for your help on saving the Aoife Hoey article (formerly Aoife Hoey (bobsleigh)) from deletion. I really appreciate it. Chris (talk) 15:47, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Aoife Hoey

You asked for sources, sources were provided, and you removed the sources. Please explain why. Corvus cornixtalk 03:21, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

I provided an explanation at talk:Aoife Hoey before doing so. Essentially, the references don't actually verify any of the information they are supposed to. -- Whpq (talk) 03:23, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The Campus Special

How should I go about removing the "considered for deletion" box? I apologize for the slow progress on the page, but I hope with the recent updates it is in accordance with the rules. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time. Msu123 (talk) 21:19, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

The article has been nominated for deletion. You cannot remove the AFD notice in the article. Editors will express their opinions on whether the article can kept and an administrator will determine the concensus and then take the appropriate action after 5 days. See WP:AFD for more details. -- Whpq (talk) 12:32, 14 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Respond to Whpq

The 'minor edit' edit summary was pre-populated, and I should have changed it to something more descriptive. You are right. I've also added the AFD result to that Talk page. Thanks! Gary King (talk) 21:14, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RingPOPmom and conflict of interest

I've already given her all the proper notices about COI. This is the ultimate single-purpose account, and I really wish I knew what to do about it. --Orange Mike | Talk 18:38, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Simply monitor the article content for POV violations, and keep pushing for reliable sources to satsify verifiability. There is no restriction on an editor with a conflict of interest adding material to an article so long as it remains neutral and is verfiably factual.-- Whpq (talk) 18:41, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
  • As you can read on the discussion page, I WANT the article to be deleted. Don't let me down when it comes to your opinion. RingPOPmom (talk) 01:29, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Great! Only you have written to delete the article. With only one reply, they will probably keep the article. UGGHH! I'm never going to get the article off. Last time there were more people who voted... Where are they now!  :-( RingPOPmom (talk) 09:22, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
An administrator will decide if further discussion is required and extend it accordingly. Note, if you want it deleted, then you should participate in the discussion and enter your delete opinion. -- Whpq (talk) 12:55, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
  • I didn't think I was allowed to vote since the other guy wrote that I wanted it deleted. I'll do it right now. Thanks. RingPOPmom (talk) 09:49, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Removed prod on HTS Kimberley

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from HTS Kimberley, which you proposed for deletion, because I think that this article should not be deleted from Wikipedia. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks! -- Atamachat 21:16, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bai Kamara

Wow! Nice catch with that speedy. It looked odd that he had added all that info in so quickly, but the person seemed notable enough so I didnt question it. But wow... nice catch! Great job! Queerbubbles (talk) 17:14, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. When I see these as I look over articles needing wikification, alarm bells go off. Often, going to the subject's official site or Myspace page will find the original text. -- Whpq (talk) 17:22, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chase-Riboud

Hello - I've never created a wikipedia page before, so this is my first time and I appreciate the help. What can I do most immediately to get my rating up from "stub" to "start"? Sociologik (talk) 19:16, 27 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sociologik (talkcontribs) 19:14, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

The article is within the scope of Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography. You can read up on biogrpahy article assessments and make an assessment request at Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography/Assessment. At least I think that's how it works. I'm not part of Wikiproject Biography so I may have an incomplete understanding of how it works. Hope that helps. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 19:19, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Brady R. Allred

Hi. I agree with your cutting of this article however I still think it's unverified - except for what is basically a self-reference. What do you think? -- Kleinzach (talk) 09:50, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

I agree. There aren't references provided. I'll tqag it. -- Whpq (talk) 12:32, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Image:Ivanios.gif

You could go imagevio tag, but in cases like this I would typically do a WP:PUI listing. This gives 2 weeks for the user to understand, and if needed, contact and request a license and get it processed via OTRS. WP:COPYREQ may help the uploader understand as well. While I've come across many images like this, the user editing articles with the same name as the location on the source website make me believe they may be related to the website and have used it in both places, which is quite common. I upload many of my own works here, but also put them on Flickr and other places as well. Either way, I didn't think speedy was the right choice in this case; however another admin might have disagreed. MECUtalk 17:19, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Kenneth Tam

Hello, could you WP:AFD Kenneth Tam please as I can't cos i don't have an account? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.210.172 (talk) 17:24, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

I could, but you will need to provide the rationale for the deletion. -- Whpq (talk) 17:26, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Non-notable author, article doesn't pass WP:BIO. Thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.210.172 (talk) 17:38, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
I have completed the AFD nomination

[edit] Graeme Kirkland

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Graeme Kirkland, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 00:00, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Image talk:Mumbai Police Logo.jpg

Recently you have raised a concern regarding Image:Mumbai Police Logo.jpg. I have opened a discussion thread on the Image talk:Mumbai Police Logo.jpg. You are invited to put forth your points on this talk page. --gppande «talk» 08:54, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Reply: I haven't expressed any concern over the use of the logo. You may be confused due to the number of copyright issues expressed on User talk:Suyogaerospace. My notice was due to the copy and paste of material from the police web site into the Mumbai Police article.-- Whpq (talk) 11:49, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for clarification: It may be true that article contains text which should not be copy-paste from any other website. I would look into this article to get it cleaned. Also I would explain Suyog (who has been working on this page for sometime now) that WP prohibits copy-paste. Thanks. --gppande «talk» 07:00, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Graeme Kirkland‎

I'm considering nominating Graeme Kirkland‎ for deletion. How long do you think it would take for you to find the sources you claim exist and place them in the article? Blast Ulna (talk) 13:37, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

I am working on it right now. I've already managed to source the switch from musician to financial adviser. -- Whpq (talk) 13:42, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy

Hi,

I have permission/approval to use both pieces of copy from the website http://www.bccresearch.com/about-experts.htm, however, I will need time to add my name to the external website so I can maintain the validity. If you can hold off on speedy deletion for a day until I upload my name onto the site, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks, Stuart Foster Stuart.foster@bccresearch.com —Preceding unsigned comment added by Stuartfost (talkcontribs) 18:13, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Reply - you can place a {{hangon}} tag and explain the situation on the articles' talk page -- Whpq (talk) 18:57, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] ACED Magazine

I own the website. Therefor I own the right to create or use my own content about it. Feel free to contact me about it via the contact us link at the bottom of the site - it goes directly to me (Jenna). I have also e-mailed the info address on here from my ACED e-mail address to confirm. -- jbensous —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbensous (talkcontribs) 16:26, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Copyrights

tHAT WAS very unfair! I did write it myself and spent hours at it! The websites were reference!--User:Svm1 63 (talk) 08:04, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

How do you explain the fact that the material was all word for word copies of news articles and web pages? Copying material from other sites are copyright violations and are contrary to Wikipedia policy. -- Whpq (talk) 10:06, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for smoothing the refs and making Robert Dickerson a better article. Julia Rossi (talk) 08:06, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome! -- Whpq (talk) 09:50, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for helping clean up the vandalism on Cedarburg Highschool. It's really frustrating that my classmates are such idiots, but I can't figure out who specifically has been doing it, and I haven't been able to do everything on my own. JDub90 (talk) 16:05, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome. About the only thing that can really be done is to monitor it, and revert and warn when it occurs. If it happens enough, then report to WP:AIV would be in order. If it becomes bad enough, an admin can make a decision for extended blocking. Cheers. -- Whpq (talk) 17:32, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Sundowner

Awesome, but I'm also going to create Sundowner (wind) from what was there before, that seemed to be the only part of the page that really needed its own article. Corvus cornixtalk 17:51, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

The wind article would be a great addition. The ones currently listed were existing articles, and the actual contents of the targets both include information that identifies the truck and the plane going by the name of sundowner. -- Whpq (talk) 17:54, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lorenzo Quinn

I don't know how to reply to messages personally. Just to say thanks for the correction. I am new to this site and am still trying to find out how things work, so apologies for the many mess ups.

Lorenzo is a friend of mine and has asked me to work on this page for him. Could you help me add the other references please?

Thanks LorenzoFanatic (talk) 11:12, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Certainly I can help. Yopu can observe my edits to see how things are done and feel free to ask me questions. One thinig I should point out is that as a friend of the artist, you do need to be aware of conflict of interest, and make sure that your edits adhere to a neutral point of view. Regards -- Whpq (talk) 11:15, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I just lost the bottom of my article. I was trying to do the references. Oh heck!!

I'll bear in mind about the conflict of interest. I think I'm gonna leave it now. This is scary.

Thanks --LorenzoFanatic (talk) 11:54, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

There's nothing scary about it. I encourage you to continue. If you are unsure about your edits, use the preview button to ensure it did what you expected. Also, you can use a sandbox to try out test edits before you do them for real. And of course, you can ask me a question if you are unsire of how to do something. -- Whpq (talk) 12:37, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you--LorenzoFanatic (talk) 14:51, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Jacob McArthur Mooney

Cheers,

I'm wondering which of the references on the page "Jacob McArthur Mooney" runs contrary to the reference guidelines?

Thanks-Mitchell

MisterIncantation (talk) 01:26, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

The article could use some better third party coverage of the subject. A university web profile, and a publisher profile could be improved upon with the addition of citations from an article about him in a newspaper or magazine. Regards, -- Whpq (talk) 10:08, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Richard Katz

Hi. Forgive my ignorance, I see that you have added to the [Richard Katz|Richard Katz] page. How can I see what you have changed? Ravagedhand (talk) 16:32, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

You can see what was changed using the page history and comparing versions. See Help:Page history for more information. My contribution to the article is purely housekeeping. I reverted some vandalism, and corrected some categorization errors. Regards, -- Whpq (talk) 01:33, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
