[edit] Removing vandalism

Thanks for your edit to 1839. However when you find vandalism in a Wikipedia article, the way to deal with it is to check the page history and revert to an earlier version. In the case of your edit, the vandal removed the end of an HTML comment while adding the vandalism, hiding the events list for the first 9 months of 1839. All you did was to remove the "Travis is gay" part without closing the HTML comment. I've cleaned it up but please be more careful in the future. A good rule of thumb to follow is that if something seems very obviously wrong or missing in an article, check the page history in case the article has been recently vandalised.
