Whitrope Tunnel is 1,208 yards long, situated 12 miles south of Hawick on the disused railway line, the Waverley Route. It is the fourth longest tunnel in Scotland.

The Waverley Route Heritage Association is currently restoring the tunnel. The tunnel is a Category B listed building and forms a key part of the former route.
