[edit] America's Next Top Model, Cycle 10
Thompson competed against thirteen other contestants to win Cycle 10 of America's Next Top Model. She was selected as one of the finalists to enter the 'Top Model house'. Half of the judging panel often criticized her performances and personality as being 'too pageant' and 'fake'. Despite being featured in the 'bottom two'[2] a total of four times - more times than any past winner - Thompson also received a first call-out[3] during the music-themed photoshoot. She also won one 'CoverGirl of the Week' title, from the final photoshoot challenge of Cycle 10.
Although she is naturally a brunette, Thompson received a blonde hair weave for her makeover on the show.
[edit] Career
[edit] Prior to America's Next Top Model
Before her appearance on the show, Thompson worked locally in northern Florida and appeared on the cover of Jacksonville magazine three times[4]. Besides modeling, Thompson worked at Chets Creek Elementary School in the before-and-after-school day care programs. She studied at Duncan U. Fletcher High School, and the University of North Florida.[5]
[edit] Post-America's Next Top Model
As part of the ANTM prize package awarded to her, Thompson received a contract with CoverGirl cosmetics and a contract from Elite Model Management. She also received a cover and six-page editorial spread in the July 2008 issue of Seventeen. Thompson's CoverGirl contract includes a U.S. national TV commerical, print advertising, and a billboard in Times Square. Thompson is the third out of four Top Model alumna to receive this honor, after Eugena Washington, second runner-up on Cycle 7, and Jaslene Gonzalez, winner of Cycle 8. Katarzyna Dolinska from Cycle 10 also has a Times Square billboard on her resumé, appearing with Gonzalez on a cross-promotional billboard for Lot 29 urban clothing and ANTM.
Since her win, Thompson has featured in interviews with People Magazine[6] and in the June 2008 issue of In Touch[6], and has appeared on the following shows: Live with Regis and Kelly, Entertainment Tonight, Extra, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, and E! News.
Thompson is the second native of the Jacksonville, Florida area to win ANTM, after Yoanna House of Cycle 2 and the first plus size model.
