In the early 1920s, HJ started to develop Whitley Heights which was Los Angeles' first celebrity neighborhood. This neighborhood is in the hills above the Hollywood Walk of Fame, north of Franklin Avenue from Cahuenga Boulevard to Highland Avenue. Bordered on the north and east by Cahuenga Blvd. and on the west by Highland Ave. & Odin St., and on the south by Franklin Ave.
To get to Whitley Heights from Franklin Avenue, turn north on Whitley Avenue, two blocks west of Cahuenga. The neighborhood was split in two by the construction of the Hollywood Freeway. To reach the smaller part of Whitley Heights, take Cahuenga north and go under the freeway.
