Whitehawk is located at 39°43′23″N, 120°32′56″W (39.723136, -120.548805)[1].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 1.7 square miles (4.5 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 96 people, 49 households, and 39 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 55.8 people per square mile (21.5/km²). There were 102 housing units at an average density of 59.3/sq mi (22.9/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.96% White and 1.04% Asian.

There were 49 households out of which 4.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.6% were married couples living together, and 18.4% were non-families. 16.3% of all households were made up of individuals and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.96 and the average family size was 2.15.

In the CDP the population was spread out with 3.1% under the age of 18, 1.0% from 18 to 24, 10.4% from 25 to 44, 50.0% from 45 to 64, and 35.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 61 years. For every 100 females there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.2 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $46,696, and the median income for a family was $46,071. Males had a median income of $0 versus $0 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $36,515. None of the population and none of the families were below the poverty line.

In the state legislature Whitehawk is located in the 1st Senate District, represented by Republican Dave Cox, and in the 3rd Assembly District, represented by Republican Rick Keene. Federally, Whitehawk is located in California's 4th congressional district, which has a Cook PVI of R +11[3] and is represented by Republican John Doolittle.
