Whitehall Street–South Ferry is a rapid transit station on the BMT Broadway Line of the New York City Subway. It is served by the R train at all times except late nights, when it is served by the N train. On weekdays, it is also the terminal for most W trains. All other trains continue through the Montague Street Tunnel to the BMT Fourth Avenue Line in Brooklyn.
The station is rather deep, as much of it goes under the Bowling Green station on the IRT Lexington Avenue Line.
The station is across the street from the Staten Island Ferry terminal. In 2008, a transfer to the IRT Broadway–Seventh Avenue Line's new South Ferry (1) terminal station (currently being constructed) will open.
