White Park
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
White Park cattle are an ancient breed, with a documented heritage of 1000+ years, and references (in Irish sagas) twice as old. In the north of England and Scotland wild White Park bulls were hunted until about 300 years ago.[1]
They are big animals with a good record of calving, some calving until age 15, with black muzzles, ears and hooves, similar in marking to British White, but with black tipped horns.
Small numbers have been exported to USA and Canada. White Park cattle generally are found only on rare breed farms such as Appleton Farms in Massachusetts, USA or Wimpole Home Farm in Cambridgeshire, England but they do have potential as a beef animal.
