[edit] Pre-recording
In February 2008, The Living End, under the alias of The Longnecks, played a small tour across Victoria to road-test songs they had written for their fifth studio album. They played a handful of dates and used the audience's reaction to the new material as a guide to which songs sounded better in a live environment.

15 of the songs mentioned above were played on the Longnecks mini-tour to road-test new material in February of 2008, some songs may have been dropped since the tour, or changed / altered, and there is the possibility of completely new songs making it to the album. It is assumed that White Noise will be made up of most of these songs, with the leftovers potentially becoming b-sides or bonus tracks on singles or special editions of the album.
