The White-bellied Nothura Nothura boraquira is a type of Tinamou commonly found in lowland dry shrubland habitats in subtropical and tropical regions up to 500m altitude. This species is native to the caatinga of north-east Brazil, also central-east Brazil, eastern Bolivia and Paraguay in South America.
[edit] Characteristics
The White-bellied Nothura is approximately 27 cm (10½ in) in length. Its upperparts are light brown barred black and streaked whitish. Its throat is white, the foreneck is buff streaked black, the breast is buff and the belly is whitish. Its crown is dark brown and the sides of the head are buff. The legs are bright yellow and the inner webs of the primaries are uniformly dark, unlike in the closely related Spotted Nothura.
