[edit] username

I wanted to ask you a question, one that you probably don't get every day. At wikibooks, my username is also Whiteknight. Over there, i'm a pretty respected contributer, and pretty active. I've looked through your history and noticed that you don't contribute as much (although every little bit helps). To cut to the chase, I wanted to know if i could get your username from you. It would help me to have the same username on both projects, although arguably there is nothing i can do to benefit you in return. If you arent interested in giving up the name, that's completely cool, I can probably find another one. --Wikibooks Whiteknight

[edit] Request for Usurpation

Hello, Whiteknight. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because you have not used it to edit, and another user would like to use it to edit. Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations says that any unused username may be usurped if the user is given seven days notice to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to utilize the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request will be filled after seven days, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit. You may make an edit here saying "No", you may make an edit to blank this page, or any other edit you like; making any edit at all prevents your username from being usurped, because users with edits cannot have their usernames usurped.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time. Whiteknight (talk) (books) 14:24, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The bot from 85.236.195.165

Sorry, this was my bot. Seems like, it's starting "live" whithout any questioning. The source code isn't documented... I'll have a look at it and test it on a local wiki. Sorry. --MarkGGN 23:46, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

yes.. i use different IP, resolving to velirat.de and not to...no RDNS record. hd@88.64.66.0 19:03, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RfA

I considered not spamming talk pages but not saying "thanks" just isn't me. The support was remarkable and appreciated, good to see some "friendly" faces! I only hope that I am able to help a little on here. Please let me know if I can help you or equally if you find any of my actions questionable. Thanks & regards --Herby talk thyme 12:38, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikibooks?

Hi, Whiteknight, are you the same Whiteknight on Wikibooks? If so, someone needs to look into a serious COI issue, here. Astonishing that such self-promotional work authored by the device manufacturer and misrepresenting the research is a featured book!! SandyGeorgia (Talk) 06:09, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Ah, I see the post above; I'll post there. Sorry, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 06:10, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Email

Hey WK, could you going to the next Philly meetup? --evrik (talk) 21:18, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

This is the wrong "Whiteknight". The "Whiteknight" you're thinking of has his Wikipedia account at User:Wknight8111, but it would be better to contact him at his Wikibooks account at b:User:Whiteknight (see discussion in sections above).--Pharos (talk) 21:42, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Usurpation

Hmm... the usurpation at Wikibooks didn't take for me. Any ideas why? ScienceApologist (talk) 18:15, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
