This same problem happens on the motorolla vc3, and I read in a forum it was due to a poorly seated ribon cable on the back of the phone. [edit] Palm OS and WSoD
I used to have a Palm Pilot Tungsten device that when it hit an unrecoverable error (By the looks of the info, a Division by Zero) cleared the screen, showing a white background (due to the backlight) with a black error box. The error box had "System Error" in the title bar, and displayed an error message that usually stated that something=0, and a button to restart the device, showing the Palm splash screen.
