[edit] What is so great about the Music Video?

Does anarchy! break out, as per punk rock protocol? 65.97.14.187 03:23, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Inspiration

Apparently Idol was on "I Love the 80s", and he said that the inspiration for the song was that his little sister got pregnant at a young age and decided to marry the guy, which Billy was against, and that the song is supposed to indicate a general disgust for weddings.

Does that merit inclusion? DS 03:11, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

I think it might be worth mentioning how the song is frequently misinterpreted and played at weddings, even though it's supposed to be an anti-wedding song. Michael24 21:23, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

I think the above comments are right on target. The true meaning of this song needs to be mentioned, as so many people think it is about incest. What a horrible thing to have your song associated with, so the true meaning should be mentioned. --ATaylor0927 09:33, 18 May 2007 (UTC)

I took out an unneeded link to a page about the name Courtney that was on a bastard line.

[edit] Bleeding finger

This is almost definitely in the wrong spot but I'm new at Wiki editing... But I've gone over YouTube and GoogleVids and everything and I've NEVER seen the ring ACTUALLY get put on her finger, nor any bleeding (re: line about how the girl insisted her finger actually be cut for realism's sake). Every site and person goes on about how iconic it was/is and how they'll never forget that scene, but every clip/version I've seen shows a quick camera zoom in on the ring itself, spliced in with some reaction shots from the bride. Does it exist? Could someone either A) Provide a link to the full video containing that clip, B) Post a screenshot of the act in question, or C) Remove the text referred to above? -N- —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nymphdaen (talk • contribs) 15:18, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Yes, you can clearly see it in the uncensored version of the video. It is unspectacular though. I have not found this version on YouTube. This Magnet Link should help you to find the file: magnet:?dn=Billy+Idol+-+White+Wedding.mpg&kt=Billy+Idol+White+Wedding+mpg&xl=36444968&xt=urn:bitprint:TCWEEIPXY42UK7G73RMPZUTEZQOQIFBB.4SQQ73KTOTXE6I6QKAKVJT4BVAPIJHR4VF3M7RI

I've uploaded the very short sequence as slide show here. It looks more awkward in slow motion than the actual video. --217.87.59.203 01:34, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "white wedding" referring to slang for geting at coke for the second time?

I've heard once "white wedding" is a slang for someone going cocaine again after having stopped it for some time. it also nicely explains "nice day to start again" line. However it might be a pure speculation.

Can anyone give any definite information on this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.140.139.36 (talk) 22:32, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
