The show begins with Mickey asking who turned off the lights. When he goes backstage to look for Minnie, he finds Goofy DRESSED as Minnie instead. Goofy is filling in for Minnie while she searches the Prop Basement for a special surprise present to give Mickey for his birthday. Thinking that she's lost in the Prop Basement, Mickey decides that if Minnie isn't back after the first cartoon, he, Goofy, Donald and Pluto will go down there to look for her.

After the first cartoon ends, they head for the Prop Basement, leaving Daisy in charge. While down there, many Disney sight gags occur as the Muses sing "Minnie Mouse in the House". Finally, they spot fireworks (released by Minnie from a box marked "Disney Magic") and decide that's where Minnie must be. Back upstairs, Daisy tries to pre-empt the second cartoon for a "silly act".

After the second cartoon, Mickey finds Minnie, who is insulted that he thought she needed rescuing. She is also disappointed that Mickey has seen her birthday surprise and is appalled that he left Daisy in charge. Most likely at Minnie's insistence, the Fab Five rush back just in time to catch the end of "Daisy Crockett's" VERY silly act.

The episode concludes with an ad for "Scuttle's Lost and Found", followed by everyone wishing Mickey a Happy Birthday and the magical Disney fireworks going off in the skies above the club outside.
