When Your a Thug was the first single by Tru-Life. This song was supposed to be included in Tru-Life's group; Ghetto Inmates' first album with Loud Records[1], however the album was never released and the group was dropped from Loud Records due to a feud with their label-mates at the time, Mobb Deep. The song featured Prodigy of Mobb Deep, Kool G Rap, and Jewell sang the chorus. The song was only released on vinyl record and was included in the "Pryde of The X-Men Soundtrack"[2], along with two other songs by Ghetto Inmates (Tru-Life's group).

  • This song was originally called "Street Life", and didn't include any guest appearances. After Tru-Life got Prodigy, Kool G Rap, and Jewell on the song, it was renamed "When Your A Thug" (sic).
