Wheeling Middle School is an Ohio County, West Virginia public school housing grades 6-8. It is located in the South Wheeling section of Wheeling, West Virginia. Bethlehem and Ritchie Elementary schools are the "feeder" schools for Wheeling Middle.
The institution, itself, was originally created as Wheeling High School in 1897 and later housed in a massive structure built in 1909. After suffering a major fire in 1913, the old school was renovated, remodeled, and reopened in 1915. In 1976, upon the consolidation of the county's four high schools and opening of Wheeling Park High School, Wheeling High School was redesignated Wheeling Junior High School. In 1984, the current building was opened. In 1990, the school was recast as a middle school.
